- 2007: Minority Nurse Educator Grant program selected participant with Certificate in Distance Education Program (CDEP) (partially funded by HRSA Grant # DIIHP05199) offered by the School of Nursing at Thomas Edison State College. Trenton, NJ. Completion date : May 2008.
- 2005: Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)-Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Professions Capacity Building Program Award. Funded by the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NCMHD).
- 2004: Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Program (RSCAAP) award in collaboration with Dr. Sandy Melton for study of “Perceived Susceptibility to Osteoporosis among Multiethnic Female College Students”. Initial findings will be used to address disease among African American Females in other CSU facilities.
