  • Wei Ma, CSUDH ASI 2005-2006 TAP Grant.The Library was funded a total of $58,780.42 to purchase equipment to facilitate students with disabilities to access and to utilize Library’s electronic and print materials.

  • Recipient of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Library Faculty and Staff Award for the work with ILCSO VISComm (Illinois State-wide consortium) and its Task Forces, 2002.

  • Recipient of the Literati Club Awards for Excellence 2003 for most “Outstanding Paper” in 2002.  This award was given for the paper “Virtual Service, Real data: result of a pilot study” published in Reference Services Review, 2002.

  • Recipient of the 2001 Highly Commended Award nominated by the Editor and the Editorial Advisory Board members of MCB University Press.  This award recognizes the work for producing and organizing quality, timely, new and useful information for the article entitled: Genesis of an Electronic Database Expert system. 2001.

  • Nominated as the recipient of the University Library Faculty and Staff Award 2001 for recognition of outstanding contributions to the University Library and its users. 2001.



 

Computer Expert System/Database Created or Configurated:

  • Customized and configured the Library’s Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), Summer of 2007. The OPAC is the Library’s major system to search and identify books, digital and other materials owned by the CSUDH Library(URL: http://torofind.csudh.edu)
  • Built the “Electronic Reference Databases” Web site in 2006 to facilitate access the electronic reference databases and electronic reference books (URL: http://library.csudh.edu/services/reference/shelf.php ).
  • Created a “Library Capital Enhancement Campaign” Web site (2006) to attract donors and to facilitate Library Campaign (URL: http://library.csudh.edu/capitalfund/default.shtml). ·
  • Smart Database Selector”, a prototype web-based system to help users identify and use the online electronic and CD-ROM resource database(s) most appropriate to their particular information needs. 1999-2000.
  • Design and built the “Library Microform Database” for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library, 2001.
  • "Computer-Assisted Library Instruction Multi-media Program" (use "GUIDE Multimedia Software Solution" software), 1995.
  • "Library Research Database --- Bibliographic Instruction" (used BASICA programming language), 1992.
