These rules are intended to ensure that the Library is a pleasant place and conducive to study. Because of the damaging nature of food and drink on library materials and disturbing behavior of a few people, we will be enforcing the following:
No food can be eaten in the Library. Sack lunches may be carried through but items must remain unopened in the building. With the exception of water in water bottles, no drinks will be allowed in the Library. No smoking is permitted in the Library, except for the 4th floor balcony or outside the Library entrance in the 2nd floor lobby. No excessive noise or any disturbance interfering with another person's use of the library will be tolerated. Any theft, abuse or misuse of State University property may result in disciplinary action enforceable under California Administrative Code, Title 5 and in criminal prosecution under Education Code 19910 and/or Penal Code 490.5.
Thank you for your cooperation. Please enjoy your visit, but keep in mind that the Library is a place for study and research.
