MEDLINE is a comprehensive biomedical database created by the National Library of Medicine (NLM). It provides authoritative information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and more. MEDLINE contains bibliographic citations and author abstracts from more than 5,500 biomedical and life sciences journals. Journal articles are indexed using NLM's controlled vocabulary, MeSH (Medical Subject Headings).
