- INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION: Reference Librarians are available
at the Reference Desk
throughout most hours
the Library is open to assist students with their information
and research needs. We are here to:
- help students to develop appropriate search strategies
and
to locate, select and use Library materials to complete their
assignments.

What Services Do You Offer to
Faculty?

- CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION: Faculty may request a lecture or workshop
tailored to meet the needs of any scheduled class
in any course or
discipline. Such presentations may include any or all of:
- library orientation and basic research skills (such
as
using the Online Library Catalog and working with traditional print materials).
- searching
- using the Internet as part of the process of scholarly research
- TOURS: Contact the Library Instruction Coordinator to
arrange
a brief tour of three floors of the library for your
class.
- INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION : Faculty may
also request
one-on-one or group assistance in using electronic
databases
in
their own research and teaching; e-mail Caroline Bordinaro
or
call
243-2084 to schedule an appointment with a
Reference
Librarian. |
| How Can I Arrange
Library Instruction For a Class? |
- Faculty may request formal lectures / workshops for
scheduled
courses :
- by filling out and submitting the online
Library Instruction
Request Form
or
- by calling Caroline Bordinaro at (310) 243-2084 to schedule a
class for a library visit. Please try to give us AT LEAST TWO
WEEKS NOTICE. |

| Where Are Library Instruction Classes Held? |
- Our 14-workstation electronic classroom, LIB A-213, across the lobby
from the main
entrance to the Library. We offer hands-on instruction in effective use of the
Library's growing collection of electronic
databases.
- LIB A-411, our lecture/demonstration SMART classroom opposite the inside elevator on the fourth floor of the Library.
