Note from Dr. John Davis:
"I've attached the audio intros that I've made available to my students in TED 406, Teaching Secondary Reading. The introductions serve to focus students on aspects of the alternative reading assignments that students may elect to read in lieu of purchasing the class textbook. The articles are PDF full-text downloads from our campus library system, and they complement the text readings.
The result of having two copies of readings each week is a more robust classroom discussion. Typically, students who have read the text are paired with those who have read the alternative article that week. The diverse perspectives on the same topic add to rich discussions that hadn't occurred prior to adopting alternative readings."
